I was never the fairy princess when I was little, I was more the Laura Ingalls type, summer days full of outdoor adventure, where the wilderness beckoned and the neighborhood was a wild, untamed frontier. After I left behind those playful days, grew up, graduated and went off into the world, I met my husband and began my next chapter in life, namely children. Pregnancy and I weren’t necessarily a perfect fit, we were more like tolerable co-workers who spent long days together, but didn’t really like to hang out. I think I had morning sickness beginning from the very first burst of conception and as time went by had every extreme pregnancy symptom known to womankind; pregnancy mask, belly line, pica, achy back, heartburn, you name it I had it, but deep down I knew I always wanted to be a mother, so I gave maternity an honest effort. Even after I learned I had gained the recommended forty pounds before my first prenatal checkup.

Yes, I knew I was in for a long haul.

Since this was all uncharted territory for me, I decided I would make the best of it, so began my oneness with all things natural and wholesome. I would be Mother Earth incarnate. Chime in the New Age music, organic prenatal vitamins and wearing a respirator when I had to pump my own gas. The next pregnancy a little less music, more screaming, crying and fatigue, I chugged down vitamins with toddler’s left over apple juice and held my breath when I filled up our now filthy car. By the time numero tres made his presence known with a well-familiar belly bulge, I had two toddlers, Nickelodeon was left on as continuous background noise to mask the volatile keens that erupted on average every two minutes, and when it came to the gas, I told my husband to go fill up the *%$# car!

I’m exaggerating, of course, but I think I probably did come unglued once or twice when we ran out of milk and when I couldn’t find two matching socks that actually fit my bloated feet. Of course, feeling a bit blue is also a normal part of pregnancy, with all those hormones on high alert, but being pregnant while chasing toddlers requires a certain amount of stamina (Michael Phelps has nothing on a pregnant woman taking her toddlers swimming at the local pool, I’d like to see him looking good in maternity swimwear). And sometimes we succumb to exhaustion due to pregnancy and everyday life. So don’t be offended when we are all out of niceties and patience when someone states the obvious ‘You sure have your hands full!’ after you and your pregnant belly are chasing your busy toddlers, who are climbing ‘up’ the down escalator, with a collapsible stroller that refuses to not only collapse but is bogged down with an extra fifty pounds of wipes, bottles, various rubbery gummy things and two wonky wheels.

So being honest about who we are and how we feel is okay. Actually it’s more than okay, it’s downright honorable. So I propose those who didn’t always feel fresh as a daisy when sitting in the ER at three-in-the-morning with vomit and other unmentionables all about your person because your toddler is stricken with a bout of the stomach flu, then to those brave mothers; I salute you!

Motherhood isn’t always those archetypical images of Madonna and Child, of complacent reverence or subtle, wizened smiles amidst a glowing countenance. It’s more about an exhausted mom who still investigates what is going on with a crying child when she would rather be sleeping as apparently she is the only one who can scare monsters away at night, who can triple-knot shoelaces and wipe a slimy nose while cleaning a pacifier with her own mouth, who can subsist on a diet of teddy grahams and Capri Suns while she pushes a triple stroller through each and every zoo exhibit.

Yes, there are no badges for those of us who take this very brave and exhausting journey, otherwise known as motherhood. But we can take solace in the fact, that what we are doing is one of the greatest jobs on earth. And yes, sometimes, we can get a bit cranky. After all, producing life is not a task to take lightly, so you partners out there, take note: Every now and then, tell your pregnant significant other to put those aching feet up, bring them dinner and better yet, do the dishes afterwards.

And when you see one of your pregnant kin out there struggling with a temperamental toddler, don’t admonish or ‘tssk’, tell her you’ve been there and it does get better (of course, you don’t want to remind her that there is going to be an even tougher time ahead; namely teens!) Let’s lend a maternal hand in these trying times, lift her and her heavy belly up and praise her since it will be years yet until she sees the rewards for all her efforts.

Hang in there, Mom! You’re doing a great job!

With summer on the horizon, things are hotting up on the pavements all over the world. Fashioners are putting together some really unique looks, all inspired by outfits and trends showcased by designers on the catwalks and runways over recent times. When it comes to ladies handbags it is hard to know where to start – the choice is phenomenal this summer – which makes it that much easier to find one that fits in with a chosen hot weather look.

Miles of Style

Girls are really spoiled for choice with styles that range from punk to classy and then masses in between. Totes are big, satchels are cool, clutches are hanging on and duffel bags are just brilliant. In fact, there’s the perfect style of ladies handbag for every occasion. When it comes to footwear, it really does not get much better either, with a choice of styles that simply takes your breath away.

Wedges, platforms, summer boots and booties, ladies sandals including some of the nicest gladiators ever. Court shoes come in every color this summer and with the warm weather, the brighter they are the better – which means neon’s are hot.

Where to Wear it

Summer means lots of festivals and outdoor events. It’s also the time of year when a girl an wear lush cocktail dresses for a really great night out and of course this means choosing the right footwear and a lush Jane Shilton handbag to finish the perfect look.

Satchels and duffles are a great choice if you’re off to a music festival. Footwear needs to be trendy but comfy so go for an ankle boot – think comfortable suede. Daytime sees lots of pavement styles that include bright, vibrant colors – with lovely dresses and short boots and great tote bags.

Summer evenings are lush, with lots of restaurants and pubs boasting outdoor terraces – think gorgeous gladiator sandals, stylish summery dresses and delicate clutch bags – the choice is wonderful this season.

Wearing Things With Style

The catwalks and runways were bursting with styles offering a brilliant source of inspiration for fashioners all over the world. With such a foundation of wonderful things, styles and designs to choose from, a girl can create a trendy hot look all of her own. The key is to be honest and put together things that suit not only your body shape, but your character and mood too.

Where to Find Inspiration

There are loads of places to find inspiration when it comes to creating that perfect unique look – and you can do it at the click of a button. Just by going online and visiting a few fashion sites, online shoes shops like Jane Shilton, will get your taste buds flowing with ideas. Then, once you’ve decided on an outfit, all that’s left is to find the perfect designer Jane Shilton ladies handbag and stylish pair of ladies shoes to complete your look!

Training an animal is never easy. In fact, sometimes it can be downright difficult. Many animal trainers spend years in college learning how to perfectly communicate with and express their ideas to animals. Others jump right into post-high school jobs working with animals and learn about training on their own.

Whether you’re familiar with dog training or you need a little help, training collars are one effective tool you can use to train your animal. Make sure you are consistent when it comes to using your dog training collar. There’s no use in even trying to train a dog if you aren’t going to follow through.

It’s confusing and unfair to start to train a dog and then give up halfway through the training process. Instead, make sure you work with your dog on a daily basis so he can learn everything you have to teach. Dog training involves more than just teaching a dog to “sit” and “come.” It means teaching your dog about the importance of obedience, specifically about obedience to you. As his master, your dog needs to listen to what you have to say.

Working with your dog on a daily basis will help you accomplish this. In addition to learning tricks and basic behavior guidelines, your dog will also learn, through proper training, that you are the one in charge and the one who matters the most.

Few home improvement projects can add as much value to your home as the installation of a pool. Initially, many homeowners might believe that an in ground pool is the only way to go. The reality is that an in ground pool is a major renovation project that can take months to complete and cost far more than expected. The alternative is a beautiful, cost effective above ground pool. Read on to discover just a few of the many reasons why you should choose an above ground pool over an in ground model.

Attractive Pricing

In most markets, an above ground pool costs just a quarter of what it would cost to install a similarly sized in ground pool. That smaller price doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice features. Many above ground pools come with amenities that are comparable to those available for in ground pools. Fountains, colorful lighting, top-of-the-line filter systems and other accessories are readily available. The big difference is the cost of the materials and the price of installation. Purchase an in ground pool, and you’ll have to pay for lots of man hours for the workers who will be installing the pool and the cost of renting the heavy equipment used to excavate your yard. An above ground pool all but eliminates these expenses.

Ease of Preparation

Before an in ground pool can be installed, your yard will have to be extensively remodeled, including the excavation of a sizable hole to accommodate the new pool. This whole process can take weeks or months. Also, keep in mind that an in ground pool is a permanent installation. You can’t simply move it elsewhere when you decide to redo your yard. The reverse is true with an above ground pool. All you need to do to prepare your yard is to select a relatively flat ground space with some open area around it. Make sure the ground is free from rocks and debris, and then you’re ready for the pool to be placed. If you want to move it to another location later, all you need is time and a little muscle.

Easier Maintenance

A pool surrounded by an emerald green lawn is a lovely sight. Unfortunately, for in ground pool owners that lawn can become a headache. Grass clippings seem to fall into the pool or on its cover with surprising ease. This causes the filter system to work overtime and means that you have to spend more time maintaining your pool. An above ground pool helps you keep grass clippings and other debris out of the water, giving you more free time to enjoy the water.

Keeps Out Animals

Family pets usually find it a bit more difficult to access the water in an above ground pool than in an in ground pool. Similarly, rodents, frogs and skunks tend to leave above ground pools alone more often than they do in ground pools, especially if you keep the ladder outside of the pool when it’s not in use.

Safety

It’s all too easy for small children to slip and fall into an in ground pool. Even worse, in ground pools make it far too easy for little ones to access the water without supervision. The necessity of using a ladder to get into an above ground pool means having extra safety measures. Make certain to pull that ladder out when the pool is not in use, and it’s virtually impossible for small children to get into the pool without supervision.

Take It With You

These days, it’s not uncommon for people to move several times during their lifetime. One of the best reasons to choose an above ground pools from BackyardOcean.com is that it can be packed up and taken with you whether you move across the street or to the other side of the Earth. That way, you and your family never have to do without your pool. It’s something you simply couldn’t do with an in ground pool.

For safety, convenience and value, an above ground pool truly is the way to go for most homeowners.

The diagnosis of back pain is one of the most difficult areas faced in modern medicine. Symptoms are often misleading and the pain is non-specific and diffuse. The physical examination can help to assess the patient’s range of movement and the pattern of pain. It may also identify any complications such as nerve root pressure which may be affecting muscular power in the limbs, leading to abnormal sensation or even interfering with bowel and bladder function. Measurements of leg length can identify compensatory stresses and strains on the spine, and manipulation with the fingers can sometimes reveal specific trigger spots over the ligaments and muscles of the back.

Eventually, however, when pain persists more than the usual 6 weeks and the patient is still in constant pain, investi¬gations are usually carried out to try to identify precisely where the trouble lies. Unfortunately the most convenient and the cheapest tests such as X-rays are rarely helpful, con¬trary to popular belief, as X-rays merely show the condition of the bones themselves rather than the soft tissues around them from which pain usually emanates. Ultrasound tests are sometimes carried out to determine whether the pain may be coming from other structures such as blood vessels, kidneys or the pancreas, and these tests are simple and non-invasive. When back pain is clinically significant and causing a lot of ongoing pain, magnetic resonance imaging scans (MRI) or computerized tomography scans (CAT) are carried out which show not only the bones and joints but the condition of the spinal cord and the nerves which arise from it as well. Blood tests are often done to show the presence of any general inflammation in the body, any blood disorder which can affect the bone marrow within the vertebrae, or any other chemical abnormality which may reveal problems in other organs that in turn are affecting the spine.

Because of the high cost of the scans, however, another modern approach is that of using an epidural anesthetic as a partly diagnostic procedure. This anesthetic bathes the spinal nerves with an anti-inflammatory steroid which is designed to take any mechanical pressure off the nerve and ease the symptoms. If the pain is relieved by such a procedure it successfully localizes the problem to the nerves themselves rather than the facet joints which join the vertebrae together above and below. An epidural anesthetic would not work if it were these joints that were inflamed but it does help where nerve compression is the problem.

The Mind/Body Link

Pain is pain, whatever the cause, but there are few areas in medicine other than back pain where the discomfort is quite so amplified by psychological factors. If you have chronic back pain you do not sleep well, you become anxious and depressed, you lack confidence, your job may be at risk, you often think poorly of yourself and it is easy to feel a failure. You can also become reliant on medication which can make you drowsy or affect your concentration, and all this takes its toll on even the most stoical of people. Your medical notes become thick files of referrals to various specialists and hospital departments and often you feel dismissed by conventional doctors who tell you that you must simply learn to live with your symptoms.

Prevention

Bearing in mind that we spend approximately a third of our lives in bed, it would be wise for us to pay a little more attention to the kind of rest we get there and the strain that is often put upon our backs by sleeping on old mattresses that give little support. A study a few years ago found that many young people sleep on very poor mattresses and are set up for back problems for the rest of their lives. So how long is it since you changed your mattress? Does it give you the support you need? And what about your pillow? Does it amply support your neck to allow your spine to stay in a straight line while you sleep? It would be a good investment to purchase the best bed you can afford and couple it with a specially designed pillow. And if for any reason you have to lie on your back, make sure you have a pillow under your knees to take the strain off your lower back.

If you spend all day in an office, insist that you have a well-designed chair and that equipment such as computer screens are placed at eye level to avoid strain upon your neck. But good seating shouldn’t stop in the office. Is your favorite chair really good for your back? And what about your car seat?

If you tend to have a weak back, go and talk to a physiotherapist about it and learn proper techniques for lifting, bending, sitting, etc. to minimize the difficulty. Although back exercises may seem like treatment, they are in fact a must for everyone. Remember that our spines were not originally designed to keep us upright, and the reason for so many people having back pain is that so few of us take as much care of our backs as we would of various pieces of household equipment.

Friends, colleagues, or family members who have a firsthand experience are the best sources. In their absence, you can always fall back on the Internet. Read up on blogs, reviews, and analysis.

However, opting for an established company like Selwyns Minibus Hire is often a smart choice because their very existence testifies to their superior service.

There are plenty of reasons why an online RN-BSN degree program might be the best option for you. Many adults look to online programs so that they can study in their spare time after work or after the kids have gone to bed. There are several other reasons to pursue this sort of program as well:

1. It is much more desirable to have a BSN than an RN. By having a more complex degree you are giving yourself an edge over other candidates in your desired field.

2. Having a BSN can help you get that promotion you have drooling over for years. Many RNs who obtain bachelor’s degrees open up doors in their futures.

3. Online programs allow for students to have individualized learning experiences. Each student can have a relationship with the instructor and other students in the class. If a student needs more help, he or she can get in touch with the instructor for additional explanations.

4. Students have much more freedom to complete work in their own time frame with an online education. While there are still due dates, students can work around their daily schedules.

5. Online RN-BSN programs are typically fast-paced. Some students take just one course at a time, completing all nursing courses in just one year. Going back to school for a BSN should not be a stressful endeavor. Pursuing an online RN-BSN is a great investment for your future.

Learning how to ride a bicycle on two wheels is a milestone in every child’s life. Some children learn right away, while others take a long time before they get the hang of things. But with a good amount of support and the right teaching technique, you can teach your child how to ride a bike in a short amount of time.

Always Use Words of Encouragement

It’s important to remember that this is a somewhat scary experience for your child, so always have a positive attitude, plenty of patience, and use words of encouragement. This will allow your child to feel at ease and release any fears. Even if your child falls a few times, let him or her know that it’s perfectly normal and that there’s no need to get discouraged. It may take a few days or weeks before your child is ready to go on his or her own, and that’s okay too.

Hold the Bike Up with Your Hand to Provide Extra Support

As your child stands holding the bike up and getting ready to sit down, hold the back of the bike from behind the seat to provide extra support and balance. Have your child really feel the weight of the bike and see what it’s like to balance on the bike just from this position.

Continue Holding the Bike As Your Child Pedals

Have your child begin moving. Again, hold the back of the seat with your hand and perhaps even hold one of the handles for extra support and balance until your child gets the hang of it.

Use Towel for Balance

There’s another creative way that you can assist your child in learning how to balance correctly on two-wheeled bikes. Wrap a large towel around your child’s waist. Bring the ends of the towel behind him or her and tie it off like a rope. Just make sure you leave enough slack so that it isn’t too tight. The towel is meant to provide a sort of safety net, but your child is actually required to find the balance on his or her own. As the child rides, you hold the towel and walk behind him or her, providing a bit of support to keep him or her upright and even more support if you feel your child tipping off to one side.

Walk Alongside Your Child

Stay close to your child at the beginning. Once your child seems secure enough while you’re holding onto the back of the bike, let go and see how far he or she can go.

One Last Thing to Consider…

Now that your child will be riding his or her bike regularly, and possibly on his or her own in a few years, it is a great idea to invest in a good insurance plan specifically geared towards bicycle riders. One option is Protect Your Bubble cycle insurance, which is affordable, yet provides you with coverage in the event anything happens to the bike or your child.

Laura Ginn is a freelance writer and blogger who enjoys riding her bike every day. When it comes to teaching a child how to ride, she knows that the task requires plenty of patience. She chooses to lead by example, showing the child how she rides before assisting him or her.

A report from the Government’s Office of National Statistics (ONS) in the UK said that the average age at which people retire has risen from 63.8 years to 64.6 years for men and from 61.2 years to 62.3 years for women between 2004 and 2010.

So it seems that we not only have to work harder to keep our jobs, but work much longer, into what should be our twilight years, primarily because the pension age continuously moves upward in line with life expectancy.

For most of us this is not an issue. With relatively happy and normal lives our jobs can accommodate us working a little longer out of necessity, even if we would rather be somewhere else entirely. But what happens if your chosen career path leads you a merry little dance that has you scratching head because at the age of 35 you find yourself officially retired as in the case of many professional sports men and women? Or worse, what if you do want to work, are quite capable of working and yet your age prevents you from doing so?

It rarely makes the front pages but when it does it usually sparks an animated discussion as was the case in April 2007 when the BBC announced that the well known News caster Moira Stewart would be leaving Sunday AM, which resulted in backlash from press and colleagues who accused the BBC of ageism and sexism. Rumors circulated within the BBC and commercial newsrooms that Stuart had been removed because she was considered “too old” at 57.

Fast forward two years and once again the BBC were forced to deny claims that ageism was alive and well when they confirmed that 66-year-old Strictly Come Dancing judge, Arlene Philips, was axed in favour of the much younger Alesha Dixon, despite her vast experience in the dancing industry.

And while it seems that women are frequently the target of potential ageism in favour of younger, less experienced replacements, men are now starting to feel the pressure as is the case of John McCririck who has launched his own £3 million age discrimination claim consisting of £2.5million in punitive damages from Channel 4 and IMG Sports Media.

A larger than life horse racing tipster, commentator and pundit for Channel 4, McCririck has been synonymous with the sport for decades and had been earning around £150,000 from Channel 4 in 2001, a sum that increased in line with inflation until 2006 when it was cut to £90,000. In October 2012 it was announced that McCririck would not be included in the team presenting racing from January 2013 and hence the lawsuit ensued.

It was surprising that he had been let-go given that horse racing commentary and punditry heavily rely on those with the most experience in the industry. It is a sport where substance most definitely triumphs over style (other than on Ladies Day), and that’s what viewers and race-goers want. They want the knowledgeable, seasoned professionals discussing the issues of the day and that is irrespective of their age or gender.

When asked why he was undertaking the law suit, a frank and honest McCririck responded by saying “I want everyone to know that this can be stopped, that’s the only ambition I’ve got in life. Not to get back on television or anything like that, it is to make a mark for anyone who fears for their job, the scourge of our society among older people. It won’t happen to them because no-one would dare do it.”

So, love him or hate him, John McCririck is a man on a mission – to get his job back, one he loves and one he is more than capable of doing with relish and much to the amusement of the viewing public who miss his crazy style and even crazier antics. It all just seems a little bit boring without him.

One of the main method through which import and export is done is shipping. Ship is used for import and export a huge amount of different through sea. Motorcycle is one of the main vehicles used in almost every country. Motorcycle has two wheels and has the capacity o carry two passenger at a time. There are different companies which perform motorcycle shipping throughout the world.

As the terms off the business is changed everything going to digitizes and provides online services through which they can supply different products throughout the world. Same things also happened in the motorcycle. There are a lot co companies which offer online services, if you are interested in buying something go to the website and select the product and you can receive the product on your door. There is a lot of website available on the internet through which you can select motor cycle and can buy it through online services. All the online motorcycles companies export the motorcycle through shipping as it one of the reliable and less expensive method of exporting also it can carry the products from several kg to hundreds of tons. The price of the motorcycle is also reasonable. Just have to fill the form giving your zip code and address by selecting the model and year of the bike and you will receive it at your door step.

The company provide you the tracking id of you ship and you are inform about your product that in how much time you can receive and through which way it is arrived. Most of the companies have the same thing either you are a dealer or buy several number of the motorcycles or you are an individual and buy a single in both condition the product will be in reach and is export as soon as you booked the product on the given address. There are different competitors in the sector and the most important things for all the companies is the satisfaction of the customers as being loyal to the customer they can have the opportunity of getting and selling more and more products and in this way they can generate high revenue and can make it products and the organization most renounced company in the world.

You can also be able to ask different question about the product to ensure that you are going to buy the desire product which you think and the same things can be received without any problem and issue in the product. Shipping is the best method as if the import is done through airlines the product may received very early as compare to the ship but the cost of the product will be several time of that of done through shipping. Motorcycle shipping is therefore very famous and is appreciated buy the customer as it can provide the feasible environment and the budget is what they expected. The other reason that there are a lot of companies throughout the world who trade through shipping and that is the reason that ship moves around the world and supply different items from one country to the other in the safe and less expensive method.
